KORE1 Makes Augie’s Quest Our Quest to Cure ALS
At KORE1, giving back to the communities in which we work and live is a major part of our company culture and mission. That’s why KORE1 is excited to announce our partnership with Augie’s Quest, an organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness urgently needed to advance cutting-edge research, fast-track effective treatments, and ultimately, find a cure for ALS. This cause is near and dear to our hearts here at KORE1, as a member of our leadership team lost their mother to ALS in 2019.
Funds raised by KORE1 will go towards:
- Funding new participants in the ALS TDI Precision Medicine Program to gain new understanding and data that feeds directly into the Augie’s Quest Translational Research Center. This integration serves Augie’s Quest’s mission to discover new potential treatments for ALS.
- Supporting a new microbiome project at Duke University. There’s a growing body of evidence that microbes in the gastrointestinal tract influence the speed of ALS progression. Understanding what factors influence the variability in disease progression may lead to new treatments that slow the disease down in all patients.
- Expanding human blood-based biomarker discovery and validation to lead toward new potential therapies. ALS currently does not have a biomarker, and this would be game changing in the diagnosis and treatment focus of the disease.
ALS is curable, it’s just underfunded. If you are interested in contributing, please click here to donate. Check out our KORE1 Cares page to see a full list of organizations KORE1 is proud to support through our actions and donations.
